Optimization of compounded drug · The usefulness of four new Eprus® mixers to prepare compounded drugs: suspension, ointment and suppositories was evaluated. Several factors, such as functional characteristic of mixers, jars, standard and disposable blades as well as quality of prepared pharmaceutical forms were considered. Three automatic mixers out of four tested provided good reproducibility of mixing parameters, that allowed appropriate formulation of good quality dosage forms.
