A new heparin indication: ophthalmology
Heparin is an most well‑known anticoagulant, widely used in the treatment of internal diseases. Recently more and more often is used to treat topically, including ophthalmology. It is used for the treatment of conjunctivitis lignosa and dry eye syndrome and for the production of intraocular implants. The use of heparin in infusion fluids during cataract surgery is also well described. There are also successful attempts to treat heparin other diseases of the eye.
