Wpływ preparatu kudzu na wyniki wybranych biochemicznych badań laboratoryjnych u osób przewlekle nadużywających alkoholu

Influence of kudzu preparation administration on some biochemical parameters in alcohol addicts. Recently there has been observed a growing interest in dietary supplements of kudzu Pueraria lobata. In chinese herbal medicine kudzu root containing a variety of isoflavones have been used to reduce alcohol drinking. In this study we have evaluated the activity of ALT, AST, GGTP and serum concentration of HDL, LDL, MCV in alcohol addicts after 6 and 12 weeks kudzu preparation treatment. Statistical analysis of the data revealed a gradual significant decrease in the value of ALT, AST, GGTP, HDL, LDL, MCV, the most advanced after 12 weeks administration of kudzu preparation. The data obtained in this study showed favorable effects of kudzu preparation on liver function biochemical parameters and suggest the possibility of it application in stabilization of liver function in alcohol addicts.
