Stability of tablets and efficiency and safety of drug use in various situations. Angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors " among them perindopril " are one of the most effective drugs commonly used in the treatment of arterial hypertension, coronary heart disease and diabetic nephropathy. This article focuses on the reasons and possible benefits of the development of a new drug formulation containing arginine instead of tert-butylamine. The use of the arginine with perindopril allows to improve the stability of the drug product for various climatic zones, thus leading to the possibility to increase its shelf-life and use the same ? easily industrially implemented packaging for every climatic zone, as well as to improve the bioavailability of the drug product under conditions of high temperature and relative humidity. The new formulation of perindopril had been registered and will be available soon in Polish market.
