Pharmacoterapy of peptic ulcer disease. Part 3. Prescription-only drugs. In this paper principles of pharmacotherapy of peptic ulcer disease with prescription-only drugs was described. Proton pump inhibitors (PPI), chemotherapeutics (tetracyclines, aminopenicillins, macrolides and nitroimidazole derivatives), bismuth compounds, pirenzepine, sucralfate and misoprostole were described. Report is confined to selected, vital characteristics of drugs (e.g. approved indications, guidelines and limitations of treatment, efficacy, adverse effects).
