Price policy of medicinal products. The State is obliged to ensure an equal access to health benefits for the citizens. Medicines constitute a significant part of the therapy costs and therefore the price policy heads towards the rationalization of expenses for medicines. The article discusses the law regulations concerning medicinal products prices and lists of reimbursed medicines in the member states of the EU with a particular consideration of the legislation applied in Poland. An attention has been drawn to the incommensurate high patientis share in the co-payment for the medicines which limits the access to the pharmaceuticals. Furthermore, the provisions of the Act referring to the option of exchange and purchase of o cheaper medicine has been discussed.
