Searching for new therapeutic options for treatment of resistant bacterial infections ・ In the present paper ongoing research aimed at finding novel therapeutic options for treatment of resistant bacterial infections has been described. This report attempts to review the efforts within several fields, mainly: phage therapy, antimicrobial peptides, therapeutic antibodies as well as acyldepsipeptides – an emerging class of antibiotics. Several candidates from groups mentioned above are currently being evaluated in clinical trials, but so far none have been approved for market authorization.
