Proanthocyanidins - pharmacological and biological activities. Proanthocyanidins are a group of natural compounds widely distributed in the plant kingdom. These compounds are constituents of some herbal medicines and food, including fruits, chocolate and red wine. The article summarizes the results of research on their pharmacological and biological activities. Moreover, the significance proanthocyanidins as components of diet and their influence on human health are also discussed.
