The effect of D-sorbitol and D-mannitol on pharmaceutical availability of active substances from tablets containing extract from St. Johnís wort (Hypericum perforatum L.). Investigations were undertaken on the solid form of a drug ? uncoated tablet containing dry extract from St. John's wort. To increase applicative value of the tablets polyhydric alcohols were applied (D-sorbitol, D-mannitol). Physicochemical properties of the tablets and pharmaceutical availability of active substances from the produced drug forms were tested with the methods recommended by FP VI. The tablets were tested again after 12 months of storage in a closed container at room temperature.
