Modern capabilities of streach marks treatment

Stretch marks (striae distensae) are spindle-shaped lesions of skin characterized by epidermal atrophy caused by mechanical damage of elastic fibers of dermis. There are two stages of stretch marks formation (I inflammatory phase – striae rubra, II disappearance phase – striae alba). In the therapy of stretch marks, beauty and aesthetic medicine treatments are used, which improve skin’s regenerative capacity (fractional laser therapy, pulsed light source, pulsed dye laser, radiofrequency, mesotherapy) and exfoliate skin (peels with glycolic acid, trichloroacetic acid, retinoic acid, and microdermabrasion). Combination therapy is recommended for stretch marks in order to improve the effectiveness of treatment. Additionally, treatment of striae distensae ought to be enriched by using of herbal preparations with nourishing, moisturizing and exfoliating properties.
