Phenylethylamine and anandamide – natural psychostimulants
2018-07-10

Stress and pain reduction or mood elevation caused by the synthesis in vivo of natural psychostimulants are observed after long-term endurance training or during the period of falling in love. Currently, some biochemical and molecular mechanisms responsible for the formation of euphoric states are known. Compounds synthesized in response to increased physical activity are phenylethylamine and anandamide, respectively the agonist of serotonin receptors and the endocannabinoid system. The work discusses signaling and psychophysical effects activated by them, which are consistent with the effects of synthetic analogs.
