The objective of the present paper was to examine the accumulation of laminin (Ln) and vitronectin (Vn) in the matrix of experimental burn wounds. Ln and Vn were extracted from the skin of Polish home pigs before and in the third, fifth, tenth and fifteenth day after thermal injury infliction. Burns were treated with Propol T, vehicle of Propol T and physiological salt solution. Ln and Vn isolated from normal and burned skin were quantified using an immunoenzymatic assay. Propol T treatment stimulated the significant changes in laminin and vitronectin content in the course of experimental burn healing. The beneficial effects of Propol T on experimental wounds make possible to apply this apitherapeutic agent in topical burn management.
