InterQuality project – a new look at the quality of medical health services

Inaugural meeting of the “International Research Project on Financing Quality in Health Care – InterQuality” was held under the patronage of the Rector of the Medical University of Warsaw, prof. Marek Krawczyk, at Hotel Novotel Airport in Warsaw, January 18–19th, 2011. The Project is financed by the 7th European Union Framework Program and coordinated by the Medical University of Warsaw. The InterQuality Project was initiated by the observation that the current system of financing health care services does not favor quality but quantity of health care services. Reforms in the area of health care have proven to be difficult to implement, and there is an urgent need for technical and scientific support for change. Therefore InterQuality Project aims to develop a guidelines for health policy and funding mechanisms, to improve quality and increase patient satisfaction. Project Partners as well as the audience agreed on the need to make financing dependent on quality of health care services.
