The effect of saccharic alcohols on pharmaceutical availability of ketoprofen from tablets
Ketoprofen is classified in the Biopharmaceutic Drug Classification (BCS) system as a Class II drug with low solubility and high permeability. The aim of this study was evaluated the effect of selected auxiliary substances on the release of ketoprofen from tablets. Tablets were prepared by wet granulation. Using official Polish Pharmacopoeia methods, physicochemical parameters of tablets were evaluated. Paddle method was used to evaluate active substances pharmaceutical availability. The obtained results of investigation show that D-mannitol and D-sorbitol improve solubility of ketoprofen.
