Parenteral nutrition. Part 1. Planning of parenteral nutrition. Clinical nutrition and metabolic care based mainly on nutrional screening and assessment, with proper nutritional support are fundamental for patient treatment. Introduction of nutritional support into daily clinacal practice is very important. This review presents: assessment of nutritional state and definition of malnutrition, nutritional requirements, qualification for parenteral nutrition, standards of parenteral nutrition formulas and definitions of procedures of clinical nutrition.
