Problems of pills technology in Wiadomości Farmaceutyczane (Pharmaceutical News) in the 1920s and 1930s. Pills are a kind of oral solid pharmaceutical dosage forms in the shape of small balls. They weight from 0,05 to 0,3 grams. Pills consist of medication (basis) combined with inactive ingredients (constituens) to form a plastic mass. This mass is rolled into a long cylinder form, this is then cut into pieces and rolled into spherical forms. In the first half of the 20th century pills were still popular products that usually were prepared by a pharmacist with use of pill machines. At present, they are seldom or never made, but word "pill" is commonly used. In my paper will be presented information about this form of drug published in Wiadomości Farmaceutyczne (Pharmaceutical News) in the 1920s and 1930s, especially issues connected with preparing and testing pills.
