Fluorine in medicinal chemistry. Part 1 - Fluorinated drugs. In this paper selected commercial fluorinated compounds which have found role and hold established position as pharmaceutical agents are briefly presented. This mini - review covers approved drugs for treatment of diseases of central nervous system, metabolic and cardiovascular diseases, antibacterial agents and antifungal therapy. References to very recent papers on the application of fluorine in medicine and medicinal chemistry are given.
