Influence of type of capsule on teophylline release rate. The release of capsules can be determined by the type of capsule. The development of technology trends to search material, which can effectively replace gelatine capsules. The aim of this study was to evaluate theophylline released from different type of material capsules. Two fast released series of formulation were produced. Popular, multifunctional two-piece hard shell gelatine capsules, hypromellose (HPMC) capsules and new capsules from PVA/Starch blend were used in this study. The results of this work demonstrate, that the capsules from PVA/Starch blend canęt be used to non-modified capsules.
