Omalizumab nowe możliwości terapii astmy atopowej

Omalizumab - new methods for treatment of atopic astma. Omalizumab is a monoclonal antibody which specifically attaches to the immunoglobulin E. IgE in this way is prevented from binding to cell receptors and allergic cascade of inflammatory mediators is stopped. There are other interesting effects of omalizumab e.g. it downregulates IgE receptor expression on cell membranes. The results of clinical trials have shown omalizumab efficacy and safety in therapy of allergic asthma.
