Use of hydroxypropylmethylcellulose acetate succinate as a carrier for solid dispersions. Solid dispersions have been used for improving pharmaceutical availability of poorly water-soluble drugs. Among methods suitable for preparation of solid dispersions the spray drying method is proposed. The aim of the study was to investigate the influence of the hydroxypropylmethylcellulose acetate succinate on the physical properties of different drugs such as: piroxicam, itraconasole and ibuprofen in form of solid dispersion using the spray drying method. The present results of investigation show the suitability of carrier as the polymer for solid dispersion formulations in two directions: improvement of solubility of poorly soluble drugs and also as sustained release formulation.
