Self-medication – a chance for improvement or potential threat to functional status of older patients?
The paper discusses the issue of self-medication among elderly patients with a particular emphasis on the role of the pharmacist in ensuring the safety of drug therapy. It presents examples of self-medication, which are safe as used in the monotherapy however as used in politherapy can be the threat for functional status in elderly patient.
